Head of Pricing and Modelling Reinsurance Global

Reporting into the Global Head of Reinsurance Pricing & Modelling, you will lead a diverse group of P&M teams of Pricing actuaries and risk modellers based in different locations.

With a strong focus on providing technical modelling and pricing support, you will have the overall responsibility for the technical robustness of the models and methods used, which is ultimately assessed by a good pricing adequacy.

Working in close co-operation with the Chief Underwriter Officer and Head of Global Lines, you will lead dedicated P&M Re teams in providing analytical support to underwriting. The role-holder will draw on extensive technical and commercial experience in overseeing the reinsurance pricing (process) in all assigned markets.

Leading a group of expert teams with dedicated risk modelers and actuaries, the main responsibilities are:

- Ensure unbiased, independent, and timely risk assessment of reinsurance contracts and provide technical support to UW teams in all assigned markets. Peer review a set of large pricings.
- Ensure team resources are invested responsibly and effectively. This applies especially during renewal times when our workforce needs to focus on the pricing of medium, large and important reinsurance contracts
- Regularly review the pricing adequacy of all assigned portfolios. Take the necessary steps to improve the pricing adequacy for portfolios, where necessary.
- Establish a good collaboration and regular exchange with the other P&M Re regional managers.
- Establish a good team spirit and encourage open communication with your team leaders.
- Besides being responsible for managing the team, you are in charge of identifying, steering and coordinating projects conducted by the team.
- Work in close cooperation with the relevant Chief Underwriting officers in all Global Lines
- Ensure the P&M team works alongside underwriting colleagues in better understanding client / market risk through:

- Regularly participating in client meetings or calls
- Giving structural advice and new ideas
- Pricing in accordance with guidelines and deadlines
- Drive demand-based product innovation

**Experience**:

- At least 15 years’ work experience in Reinsurance with a focus on analytical / actuarial work like development / structuring of (re)insurance products, pricing/modelling of financial instruments and/or reinsurance contracts, development of new pricing tools.
- Sound technical capabilities in actuarial analysis.
- At least 5 years’ experience in people management; experience in running organisation with multiple teams in different locations is considered a plus
- Knowledge of some Global Lines and reinsurance underwriting is an advantage.

**Education**:

- Advanced degree in mathematics or related field or
- a full designation / qualification in a professional actuarial organization (e.g. Fellowship), together with an undergraduate degree.
