Portfolio Startegy team is part of the Commercial & Portfolio Strategy unit of Takeda PDT BU. It is tasked with developing world class brands and commercial strategies for Takeda’s largest and fastest growing inline and pipeline programs across Plasma Derived Therapies. The team is tasked with helping to drive Commercial Innovation and provide strategic portfolio insights and direction.
**The New Products Planning Lead will**:
- Lead the development of target product profiles (TPPs), target device profiles (TDPs) and target product claims (TPCs) for early and mid-stage programs, based on thorough understanding of market dynamics and potential future trends.
- Develop and communicate strong understanding of treatment protocols, level of unmet needs, potential patient segments, and competitive pipeline to identify targeted product concepts and necessary product profiles
- Direct / implement strategic commercial projects to inform clinical development and commercialization plans.
- Provide commercial insight and analytical support for commercial assessments and high-level market situation assessments; represent the commercial and portfolio strategy point of view for business development opportunities
- Proactively partner with all relevant stakeholders across Takeda PDT departments (e.g. PDT R&D, PDT BD and regional PDT franchises, etc) to develop, refine and implement therapeutic area and portfolio strategies
- Liaise extensively with internal and external experts to gain insights and identify potential opportunities for early-stage programs, pathways, and treatment approaches
- Translate key insights from scientific experts (internal PDT R&D colleagues + external opinion leaders) into clear, actionable product or disease area strategies
- Ensure the required payer, provider and patient insights are obtained to inform clinical development programs and business development decisions
- Work with medical affairs, market access, health economics and outcomes research teams to enable the development robust payer and health system value propositions
- Evaluate market environments, collaborate closely with internal and external thought leaders and key customers in identifying unmet needs and translate information into strategies to achieve short-term and long-term franchise objectives.
**Education and Experience Requirements**
- Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (minimum); MBA or science-related graduate degree preferred
- 15+ years of biotech experience, ideally, with new product planning experience, commercial marketing / sales and / or market insights experience
- Proven ability to influence in cross-functional settings a must. Must be a strong communicator, able to confidently present findings to top level executives as well as able to represent the commercial perspective to senior members within different functions of the organization
- Plasma Derived therapy experience is highly desired, but not a must
- PHD is desired, but not a must
- Global and Regional/Country marketing experience in developing and launching markets and brands in rare disease.
- Ability to understand Global market trends, financial data, customer needs and assess competitive intelligence data.
- Solid track record in successfully launching products globally
- Additional desired experience: market access and pricing, brand planning, KOL engagement, strategy consulting, market research and / or investment banking
