**University of Zurich's Center of Dental Medicine is one of the four dental university centers of Switzerland. It has approximately 390 employees and comprises six clinics, an institute, and a central administration department.**

The vacant position is at the laboratory of Oral Physiology and Biomechanics of the Clinic of Masticatory Disorders.

The laboratory of Oral Physiology and Biomechanics of the Clinic of Masticatory Disorders, located at the Center of Dental Medicine (ZZM) of the University of Zurich, focuses its work on basic science as well as on translational and clinical research concerning orofacial pain, masticatory muscles and jaw function and dysfunction. The research group is specialized in the collection and analysis of mandibular biomechanics, motion tracking data and biomedical signals, based on quantitative assessments, in particular instrumented biosignal measurements of masticatory muscle electromyography (EMG), electroencephalography (EEG), electrooculography (EOG) and jaw motion tracking. Our goal is to support the clinicians in the early diagnosis of TMD and improve the effectiveness of treatment.

**Your responsibilities**:

- Participation in innovative research projects in the field of physiology and biomechanics of the masticatory system
- Participation in data acquisition in translational research projects within the clinic of masticatory disorders
- Contribution to scientific publications
- Acquisition of research funds to further develop innovative research

**Your profile**:

- University degree in dentistry
- Interest in the area of biomechanics of the masticatory system, biomedical signals, mobile health, biomedical sensors and systems
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment and creatively interface with experts from different areas (medicine, engineering, hardware specialists)
- Familiarity with the digital dentistry workflow
- Fluent knowledge of written and spoken English and German is an advantage
