**Responsibilities**:
Lumentum’s Commercial Lasers Business Unit is seeking an intern for its site in Schlieren, Switzerland, to support the team on purchasing activities. The position entails a range of responsibilities including
- Processing and placing purchase orders
- Following up with suppliers on order confirmations and delivery dates
- Working with AP (Accounts Payable) and suppliers on all invoice holds
- Filing of all complete orders
- Onboarding suppliers and maintaining the supplier base
- Maintaining good supplier relationships
- Inventory management/organization on the site as needed
**Required Skills**:
- Ongoing or completed study in any of the following fields
- Procurement and/or Supply Chain
- Commercial apprenticeship/training (“KV Lehre”)
- Bachelor or Master students from Business, Economics and Administration-related program
- Any Engineering Field
- Bachelor or Master of Science
- Interest to work in a fast-paced high-tech environment
- Strong Communication skills (verbal & written)
- Must be an organized self-starter, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Must be comfortable with the team environment and asking for help when needed
- Must be comfortable working through details of accounts payable issues to ensure invoice payment to suppliers
- Knowledge of Oracle or other Enterprise Resource Planning systems would be a plus
