Graphic Team Co-leader

We believe that communication and visual languages are important in this vision. We all use emojis, gifs, and many other visual communication forms in our daily life already. Our mission is to create the world's first fully functioning language based on visual icons and used across all major social media channels.

We're a team of linguists, technologists, and designers passionate about the potential of making communication simple, direct, and impactful.

**About us**

We're a team of over 40 volunteers working across multiple disciplines from linguistics to design, from business development and marketing to product development. We are open and respectful and work remotely and mostly asynchronously. Accountability is key for us and so is teamwork.

**About you / Requirements**
- Experience in graphic design (preferably at least 3 years of experience) and in the supervision of a team of graphic designers
- Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop)
- Being familiar with the creation of small-scale designs with pixel-perfect precision
- A keen eye for aesthetics and details
- Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
- A degree in Design or a related field is a plus
- You are self-organized, ambitious, and passionate about languages
- You are looking for a long-term collaboration
- You believe the world can be a better place and are ready to commit and push through walls to turn your beliefs into reality. Pioneering the adoption of a new communication system is ambitious.

**About the Role / Responsibilities**

In KomunIKON, the Graphic Team possesses a key role, as they work and provide the visual elements of the project. They are responsible for designing visual elements for the project while reflecting its design aesthetic. They work alongside a team of linguists to create new icons and test different designs to see which are most effective.

We are looking for someone to supervise and manage the graphic designer team composed of volunteers and interns.

In the scope of the project, a graphic guideline was made to maintain a cohesive aspect of each design. The key role of this position is to ensure these guidelines are followed, to be able to correct or adjust the designs following the guidelines and be able to provide guidance and solutions against the challenges the team could meet.

**Availability**

Part-time: Several hours per week
