Director of Testing Operations

Your mission at Climeworks is to lead Testing Operations, with the ultimate objective of conducting and supporting high quality on time and accurate and safe tests.
- You are responsible for Operations Leadership:
a.) Develop and implement the strategic plan for testing operations, aligning with the overarching strategic goals of the testing unit and enabling an operations orientated working culture.

b.) Identify potential risks within the testing operations and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.

c.) Set and monitor operations-related key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality and monitoring metrics to drive performance improvement.

d.) Foster collaboration between the testing engineering department and other departments (particularly Testing Engineering and Plant Operations).

e.) Ensure all activities on the facilities are controlled, safe and tracked.

f.) Enable rapid prototyping and direct and easy proof of concept testing focusing on short lead times from idea to realization.
- You manage and develop operations leads:
a.) Provide leadership and technical direction to the “Manager Test Execution”, “Laboratory Lead”, and “Site Managers”.

b.) Foster professional development and provide training opportunities for the “Manager Test Execution”, “Laboratory Lead”, and “Site Managers”, as well as their respective teams.
- You are in charge for Safety and Compliance:
a.) Ensure that all safety protocols are followed and updated as necessary (working with HSSE).

b.) Work with the Site Managers to ensure site processes adhere to industry standards, regulations, and best practices for safety and efficiency.

c.) Develop and ensure an overreaching nonconformity and lessons learnt documentation and reporting.
- You oversee Resource Management:
a.) Allocate resources and manage the budget effectively to support testing operations activities, this includes full ownership of all OPEX cost related Testing analytical accounts.

b.) Ensure stable and sensible on call duty work is applied across testing.
- You are responsible for efficient stakeholder Communication and Reporting:
a.) Represent testing operations in discussions across the org as needed.

b.) Maintain clear communication channels testing customers, ensuring transparency and alignment on testing operations efforts.

c.) Refine and maintain the reporting strategy within Testing and towards the customers.
- You hold a bachelor's degree in engineering with a hand-on background, or a related technical field certification with hand-on experience.
- You have at least 10 years of experience in operations management, with a significant portion specifically in testing or a closely related field such as plant operations and commissioning.
- Proven track record of successful team leadership and project management in complex environments.
- You have a strong grasp of testing methodologies and operational procedures Experience with resource allocation, budget management, and performance metrics.
- You demonstrated the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, fostering an environment of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively managing stakeholder relationships and leading change.
- You are fluent in English and German basics are of benefit.
- You are willing to travel up to 50% to Muttenz (BL).
