**Global Division R&D Manager (flexible location)**:

In this role you will be leading global drive market leader R&D organization. You will be responsible for identification, exploration and implementation of technology/product development and growth strategies within Drive products division to enhance and secure ABB´s global position and profitability in the medium/ long term. You will ensure project execution, foster innovation and develop and secure research and development (R&D) capabilities. The role is open globally, but location is set in ABB Offices in Finland or USA (New Berlin). Willingness to travel is required (50-80 days).

**This position reports to**:
Division President MODP

**Your responsibilities**:

- Lead Drive products global R&D function and global team
- Create and execute R&D strategy for the division together with other functions and locations in alignment of global strategy and financial goals
- Create product development roadmap for the division with other functions in alignment of global division business targets.
- Follow-up and prioritizes execution of development projects according to the capacity and business priorities
- Define annual priorities for the global function and local R&D teams and ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) are in place
- Define targets, roles and responsibilities for the global R&D team and develop team members according to their personal needs and global function targets
- Create annual budget, follows-up costs and financial guidelines. Plan global long-term investments
- Drive innovation culture throughout the division and plan division technology development and research roadmap
- Emphases D&I, knowledge sharing and collaboration in the function globally
- Monitor global technical trends, analyses customer needs and watch closely competitors’ technologies
- Drive development of global processes, procedures and tools via continuous improvement

**Your background**:

- Bachelor’s degree or higher on relevant technical area
- 15 years of experience in a broad range of technology architectures and products.
- Proven track record on working in R&D organization in area of power electronics, electronics or software development
- 10 years successful management experience with proven leadership skills
- Experience on leading global team in multi-cultural environment
- Strategic planning skills, a demonstrated ability to see the big picture, and the ability to create technology solutions to meet real business needs
- D&I, integrity and global collaboration high on agenda
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, coupled with the ability to work with business and technology stakeholders
- Passion for technology and innovation
- Understands importance of quality and have 'customer first attitude'
- Understands of product development processes and ability to understand complex technical systems
