Design Manager

PureGym Group is the second largest fitness chain in Europe, operating over 500 sites. The Group comprises of PureGym Swiss, the largest low-cost operator in Switzerland, Fitness World, the leading gym operator in Denmark and PureGym, the leading operator in the UK. Furthermore, we have recently launched in Saudi Arabia and the USA. In Switzerland we plan to rapidly scale in size, disrupting the market, and through a £300m equity injection secured end of 2021 we are ideally positioned to realize these ambitious goals. In this way, we can make an even greater and more important contribution to the fitness and health of the Swiss population in the future. Tasks We are looking for a Design Manager to support all aspects of the department, with the following key areas of responsibility: - Assessing the high-level feasibility of potential new sites prior to acquisition. - Providing the appropriate technical evaluation of each site and corresponding design requirements. - Ensuring the approved design adheres to the format requirements and standards. - Owning the member experience from arrival at the location through to exit with respect to all aspects of design, including but not limited to, signage, finish, equipment layout, mirrors and lighting. - Articulating creative ideas and gaining stakeholder approval through use of 3D and other visual aids. - Liaising with Operations on approval of equipment layout. - Liaising with Marketing on ad hoc, bespoke signage design. - Input into architectural drawings as and when required. - Managing 3rd party stakeholders when required. - Ensuring all health and safety requirements are considered as part of design process. - Providing appropriate decision making at key stages in the property development process using governance forums where required. - Input into continuous improvement of gym formats and design standards. - Providing recognition, support and encouragement to your peers to ensure all team objectives are met. - Ensuring personal development plans are in place. - Positively representing the Development function internally and being an ambassador for PureGym externally. - Being recognised as someone who makes a significant contribution across the Development function. **Requirements**: - A proven, successful Designer with experience of delivering interior and exterior design for multi-site property developments consistently and at scale. - Ideally has experience working in or with large scale organisations in customer facing industries such as leisure, retail, hospitality or retail banking. - High levels of creativity, imagination and vision. - Has an understanding of members needs within a gym environment, including health and safety factors, and can incorporate all of these successfully in to the design process. - Has strong design software knowledge and skills and comfortable using these when required. - Can demonstrate a track record of continual professional and personal development. - A highly capable operator who can successfully resolve difficult situations and make critical decisions under pressure. - Proactive, accountable, hands on, adaptable and able to react quickly to a fast moving, ever-changing environment. - An excellent communicator, with the ability to simply convey complex messages and influence at a senior level. - Commercially astute, able to evaluate investment decisions considering member brand expectations balanced with the required levels of return. - Member focused, always striving to improve the experience for all members through own area or working across the business. - Able to work cross-functionally, to bring together all parts of the business to deliver the right outcome for members and PureGym. - Ideally has a passion for, or an interest in, fitness and leisure. - Able to travel as required. **Benefits**: - Exciting development opportunities and the chance to actively contribute to an international company and its growth. - A young dynamic environment with a "can-do attitude" awaits you - You will find professional structures but a start-up feeling - We are offering home office opportunity - You benefit from employee advantages such as free training in all clubs or discounts on our product range - We grant 25 days holiday on a 100% basis
