Lead Asset Manager

**What it's about**

This role is in the Private Infrastructure asset management team within the Partners Group. The portfolio of investments includes renewable and low carbon conventional power, transport, communication, logistics and energy and power networks. This is an expanding team of professionals dedicated to delivering sustainable value creation from investments in ambitious companies made by the Infrastructure team on behalf of our client investors.

A Lead Asset Manager is a senior asset management professional who can work independently across the origination, due diligence and value creation cycle, under the responsibility of senior leaders, demonstrates industry expertise in one or several of the infrastructure sub sectors, functional expertise and commercial judgement to complement his / her analytical skills. The Lead Asset Manager should have the personal maturity and experience to work independently with portfolio company management teams and non executive board members (operational directors) to create value within the portfolio companies and for our client investors.

**In this role you will be responsible for the asset management of private infrastructure investments as well as broader operational responsibilities. This will include**:

- Working in partnership with management and investment teams in the asset management of private infrastructure investments to develop and implement strategic plans, value creation initiatives, set up and operate best practice board governance and monitor performance
- Assisting investment teams in identifying and executing addon investments
- Develop relationships with management teams, non executive board members and service providers
- Support in due diligence of new opportunities with a particular focus on assessment of existing management, board governance, on‑going operations and prepare structure for asset management post-investment
- Continuously review and implement restructuring strategies and value improvement initiatives
- Support, advise and challenge the management teams and non executive board members
- Conduct and co-ordinate activity related to reporting, monitoring investments, market research, internal requests, and marketing efforts
- Assist investment teams in sourcing infrastructure investment opportunities with a focus on Europe
- Participating in client interactions and ability to speak confidently about Partners Groups direct investments

**What we expect**
- Top academic credentials (Masters/MBA/Financial qualification), with an emphasis on Finance, Economics and/or Engineering
- At least 10 years of relevant work experience
- Experience from executive functions in a corporate environment having gained a good understanding of how to successfully establish value creation in a corporate environment from the infrastructure sector.
- Experience from operational and /or strategy consulting firm
- Project management skills / experience with the ability to multi-task and complete projects on time
- Motivated by the purpose of delivering vital infrastructure investments for the benefit of customers and Partners Group client investors
- Having been involved in direct M& A transactions, leading due diligence streams and/or experience in company valuations is a plus
- Experience from private markets firm is a plus as well as experience from international environment
- Demonstrated strong stake holder management and leadership skills
- High capacity with strong drive and high integrity
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
- Team player with strong collaborative skills with developed listening and influencing skills
- Proactive on assignments/projects and demonstrate initiative
