Demand Planning Manager EMEAI (M/F)

To strengthen our Supply Chain team in the Advanced Materials division, we are looking for a Demand Planning Manager, EMEAI. The position is a permanent position based in our regional HQ in Basel, Switzerland.

As Demand Planning Manager, EMEAI you will interact daily with the Regional Leadership team and facilitate the determination of the 24 months demand plan with Sales, Marketing and Supply Chain functions. You will brief monthly the Regional Vice President on the changes to the demand plan and demand scenarios based on the macro-economic situation in our key markets.

The fundamentals of this role are to select and focus on the right ideas, tools, process, and projects that will optimize Huntsman’s ability to supply the right products, using the right resources, and at the right time.

We are looking for a self-driven and motivated business manager with strong capacity to build relationships and to identify demand trends in the market. Working as part of a dynamic and well-established team, you will report directly to the Global Demand & Supply Planning Director.

As Demand Planning Manager EMEAI you will:
IBP Demand Management
- Manage demand at regional level and support commercial and regional leadership team on demand evolution in line with internal and external factors
- Ensure alignment of demand and financial figures taking into account growth plan, opportunities and promotion
- Coordinate and integrate the Regional Business Reviews with the Commercial leadership and the site production planning teams (IBP strategy & process)
- Lead monthly Regional Business & Demand Reviews in support of the monthly IBP process with relevant market inputs
- Sustain transformation of information into key data into business systems.

Demand & scenarios
- Analyse customer’s demand, order pattern, forecast bias and MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error) to improve forecast accuracy
- Understand and synthetize external factors to translate demand evolution with tangible information
- Use structured input to drive business simulation and scenario to maximize profit
- Support inventory management, to optimize cash flow, having the right inventory coverage versus sales, reduction of slow and non-movers
- Provide timely and proper information to support materials supply decision-making process
- Translate business opportunities to supply chain delivery and mitigation plans
- Align business results across multiple stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Portfolio Management)

Process optimization
- Work in coordination with other functions and divisions to review demand and forecasted processes to optimize and standardize current processes
- Improve ways of working and deliver key improvement that will enable further optimization in operations such as cost, working cap and service level
- Ensure compliance to Environmental, Health, Safety and Compliance initiatives as set forth by the company

**Requirements**:

- Master’s degree in finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Supply Chain, or a related field
- CPIM / CSCP certification preferred (APICS/ASCM)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply planning related function with commercial exposure
- Hands-on experience with modelling, forecasting, analysis and simulation tools.
- Ability to interact with all levels within the organisation and to deliver clear and compelling message, synthetizing complex information in simple terms
- Preferably from a multi-national and multi-site organization
- Excellent knowledge of planning concepts (S&OP, IBP, RCCP, MRP, MTO, MTS)
- Strong understanding of commercial priorities and market segmentation concepts
- Process and detail oriented with the capacity to see the big picture
- Ability to work independently in a multicultural environment
- Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
- Very good IT and MS office knowledge (SAP, PBI, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Effective oral and written English skills. German skills are an asset.
