This position will be within the Fluence Digital business unit, formed following Fluence’s acquisition of San Francisco-based start-up AMS. Fluence Digital’s IQ platform uses artificial intelligence, advanced price forecasting, portfolio optimization and market bidding to ensure energy storage and flexible generation assets are optimally participating in wholesale electricity markets.
The Business Operations function in Fluence Digital plays a critical role in establishing and enabling the organization to achieve its annual objectives. The role will be in the Strategy and Operations team, with close interaction with the Finance, the Commercial and the Marketing organizations. The role represents a unique possibility to gain 360° insights in how a young and growing company scales up and increases its impact, and to be a key player in enabling such growth
**Main responsibilities**:
- Support the Commercial Team in preparing offers for prospects and ensure consistency across the portfolio
- Coordinate project management initiatives aimed at improving the process across Fluence Digital teams and maintain operating cost assumptions
- Utilizing business intelligence tools, manage Fluence Digital’s reporting dashboards that highlight products and overall business performance,
- Define and collect metrics on Commercial Team performance, including pipeline, sales and customer success, leveraging appropriate CRM and other cloud based tools
- Collaborate with Finance & Accounting on revenue and cost forecasting, along with special topics unique to SaaS (e.g., revenue recognition for variable performance)
- Support the Senior Management in building the business case for growth initiatives (e.g. new market entry or new software developments), with resourcing requirements and outcome forecasts
- Guide/support the implementation of such growth initiatives
- Assist internal operations such as managing vendors, onboarding new team members, preparing team wide meeting materials
- Map and drive improvements in the internal operational processes and policies
- BS/BA in an analytical field (e.g., Economics, Finance, Business, or related field)
- At least one year of experience in a management consulting, finance, business operations or equivalent cross-functional roles within large software or technology companies; SaaS and publicly traded company experience preferred
- Excellent project management skills including attention to detail, organizing skills
- Good written and oral communication skills in English
- Deep interest in renewable energy and/or sustainability
- Experience working within cross functional teams, processes, and projects involving cross-functional set of stakeholders
- Familiarity with software vendor agreements; contract negotiations experience preferred
- Efficient and creative problem-solving skills, while being mindful of business objectives and communication styles
- Eagerness to work in collaborative, dynamic, and team-based environments
