The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Academic Partnerships Manager to support the Frontiers Planet Prize team.
Reporting to the Head of Partnerships - Foundation, and working closely with the operational and communication teams, the Academic Partnerships Manager will be responsible for making first contact, onboarding, and establishing long term partnerships with leading universities and academic institutions, with the goal of building and engaging the nomination network for the Frontiers Planet Prize.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaising with key decision makers at research institutions with the goal to build long-term partnerships for the Frontiers Planet Prize program.
- Presenting the concept of the Prize and its mission to this network, and to drive engagement from both senior administrators and leading scientists affiliated at these institutions.
- Acting as the dedicated point of contact for nominating scientists and the annual National Champion cohort, supporting their engagement throughout each yearly edition of the prize.
- Defining the project plan to drive engagement from institutions and our scientific network: mapping the project, key milestones, messaging, and deliverables, in collaboration with the Operations and Communications team.
- Ensure the day-to-day operations of managing the academic network of partners, with guidance from the Head of Partnerships.
- Supporting the wider Frontiers Planet Prize team with any _ad hoc _operational and engagement initiatives.
**Requirements**:
- Substantial experience in science engagement, and outreach to senior academic stakeholders.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Strong sense of prioritization, and ability to manage large networks of VIP stakeholders.
- Proven demonstration of project management and planning.
- The ability to work independently with sound and mature judgement, to proactively drive interest from academic stakeholders.
- Possess influencing skills and strong presentation abilities.
- Resilient, and determined to positively overcome obstacles.
- Experience with Salesforce and MS office skills desirable.
- A postgraduate degree, ideally a PhD, in a sustainability related discipline desirable.
- Passionate about driving system change in academia, to address Planetary Health.
