Europe Oncology Finance Business Partner

**_ ROLE OBJECTIVE_**
- Head of finance for the Europe and Canada (EUCAN) region of the global Oncology Business Unit (OBU).
- Partners with the EUCAN OBU team across eight countries and with local country finance to drive performance, achieve business targets, and manage financial processes
- Position works hand in hand with the Head of EUCAN Oncology to manage the EUCAN OBU P&L and is a member of the EUCAN Oncology Leadership Team.
- Reports directly to the global OBU CFO.
**_ ACCOUNTABILITIES_**
**Support head of EUCAN Oncology and OBU Country Heads to manage the EUCAN OBU P&L, Revenue and Profit Targets and deliver strategic leadership**:
- Support and influence key strategic and operational decisions, and aenable data/fact-based decision making; provide input in defining the Region’s strategic direction
- Support appropriate resource allocation in the countries and functions through reporting and analysis
- Identify and manage scenario and contingency planning needs for the Region to ensure balance of Commercial investments with meeting Region commitments and ambitions
- Deliver continuous analysis of country achievements through targets, follow-up of defined action items via monthly/ad-hoc reviews
**Lead the overall business planning process for EUCAN OBU**:
- Develop & drive a consistent high quality planning process
- Define FP&A timelines and deliverables and ensure they are met. Provide planning templates and tools to standardize approach and enhance review quality
- Align with key stakeholders in EUCAN OBU and relevant business partners
- Build consensus with the Leadership Team on the key messages and specific content for Plan and Update Presentations. Communicate finalized content to business functions.
- Optimize processes with countries
**Oversees the monthly and quarterly close**:
- Reviews results for reasonableness and understanding causes for variances from budget and/or forecast (Revenues and Opex)
- Identifies trends that could potentially impact the ability to achieve full year results
- Prepares presentations for OBU leadership team and OBU Finance summarizing results and providing explanations and insights
- Delegate activities to team and appropriately monitor
- Close the books (with proper accrual process) for Regional team
**Leads a cohesive oncology finance community within OBU country Finance leads and the global OBU Finance team**:
- Role has no direct reports, but leverages and mentors a network of finance partners in EUCAN LOCs who help to support OBU, and acts as an intermediary between local finance teams, EUCAN BU finance, and global OBU
- Support the EUCAN BU with periodic analysis of their oncology business
- Provide relevant training for planning, performance tools, processes to finance community and relevant business partner(s) supporting EUCAN OBU
- As a key leader for one of three Regions in the global OBU finance team, collaborate within the team to share best practices, support BU level initiatives, and sustain an understanding of the overall oncology business within Takeda

**Experience and Education**
- Bachelor's degree, MBA strongly preferred
- At least 10 years’ experience in financial roles with record of increasing responsibility scope and successful and effective financial budgeting, forecasting, planning including consolidation
- Work experience in pharmaceuticals/life sciences preferred
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated business impact and influencing skills in previous leadership roles.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment as both a leader and contributor.
- Effective communication skills with colleagues at all levels and departments of the business especially with non-financially oriented business partners.
- Attention to details and efficient processes to ensure high standards of accuracy and consistency of data while maintaining agility to prioritize for areas of critical importance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including Excel modeling, and experience creating presentations in PowerPoint is required
