**About the role**

This position is an excellent opportunity to build a track record in the strategy function of a global financial services provider. We are looking for an enthusiastic and performance-minded individual to reinforce our team and help shaping the strategic direction of Corporate Solutions. The role covers a wide range of themes at the top of our CFO/CEO agenda related to the development, articulation and execution of our global business strategy.

You will support and manage high priority strategic initiatives and develop new growth and investment opportunities for the Business Unit, often as part of cross-functional teams and/or in close interaction with senior management. In this role you will build a deep understanding of the key value drivers in commercial P&C insurance and extend your horizon into emerging industry themes such as risk-related services and digital markets.

The role also extends to strategic performance management tasks, such as the assessment of our financial and operational performance against defined KPI's and peers and the performance tracking and steering of a growing portfolio of strategic investment cases.

**Other responsibilities include**:
- Monitoring of market and industry trends and evaluation of relevant competitor moves- Support and evaluation of regional and functional business development proposals- Evaluation of the relevant M&A target space and support with the assessment of potential transaction opportunities- Contribution to broader Finance deliverables such as the annual financial planning process and strategic cost management initiatives- Development and improvement of analytical frameworks, models and tools to evaluate the effectiveness and performance of implemented strategies and business cases- Preparation of analysis and presentations for performance reporting and strategy communication to Swiss Re's Group Management, Board of Directors and Investors- Supporting the Head Strategy in various ad-hoc analysis, managerial tasks and documentation

**About the team**

We are a small, highly engaged team with a diverse mix of business, finance and analytical expertise. Based in Zurich, we work as one team with our colleagues in Finance Corporate Solutions to deliver strategy, financial planning and performance management for the Business Unit from one source.

We interact frequently with the Corporate Solutions CFO, CEO and other members of the Executive Committee and collaborate with other teams across Corporate Solutions and the Swiss Re Group, including Group Strategy & Performance Management, Investor Relations, Principal Investments & Acquisitions and other functional strategy teams.

**About you**

Educational/professional- University degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, Math, Science or equivalent- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in the re/insurance industry, in a comparable corporate finance, strategy or M&A role, or in consulting.

Key skills and knowledge- Strong business and financial acumen and high affinity to numbers- Analytical and methodological workstyle, with proven ability to translate early-stage ideas and hypotheses into clear and consistent analysis- Track record of managing projects and workstreams proactively and independently- Strong communication and editorial skills and ability to deliver complex messages in a clear and synthesised manner- Can focus on details without losing track of the bigger picture- Experienced with high workloads, can prioritise tasks in order to meet multiple deadlines-
- Proficiency in English a must, other language skills desirable- A solid understanding of P&C re/insurance markets would be an asset
