Tasks

Start-Up CTO and Software Lead

We are looking for an engineer to fill the role as CTO / Software Lead. Your

mission will be to drive all software engineering tasks from the get-go. You

will interact with customers and users from the very beginning. Typically, your first task will be to create prototypes and MVPs to validate your tech stack and market assumptions. If this proves successful, your next task is to build the full product, launching and scaling it. You will closely cooperate with a team of entrepreneurs along this journey.

You are tech employee #1, so you will be expected to own and implement the tech stack yourself. You will grow the team as the case grows. The job is best

suited for current tech leads who still enjoy getting their hands dirty but are

looking for their first CTO assignment. Experience in medical devices is a plus

but not a requirement.

We are looking for someone who is willing to go into uncharted territory, for whom the experience of the journey matters more than following a pre-planned path. We are looking for someone who can work with the undefined and who thrives in a team of like-minded people, rather than working alone and doing things by the book.

Role & Responsibilities
- Development of products from prototype through MVP until launch
- Requirements engineering in close collaboration with various stakeholders
- Identification and management of implementation partners (if required / beneficial)
- Playing an active role in driving the technology roadmap and innovation process
- Delivery of the start-up’s product

**Requirements**:
Requirements & Qualifications
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong desire to work in an agile, fast-paced, collaborative start-up environment
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or other relevant discipline
- 5+ years’ experience as a software engineer
- Strong knowledge in app development with Flutter (or ability and willingness to learn)
- Strong knowledge in backend development with NodeJS, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes (or ability and willingness to learn)
- Ideally experience with web development, embedded development, or data science
- Understanding of front-end & back-end technologies and platforms
- Ideally strong UX and design capabilities with a desire to sweat the small stuff
- Knowledge of Scrum or other agile methodologies
