We are looking for an experienced architect / senior developer for the global R&D of the Process Automation division, Process Control Platform organization. Our unit designs control systems products and instrumentation for the Process Industries. Our portfolio includes a complete state-of-the-art automation solution for traditional markets such as thermal and water as well as challenging and ever evolving renewable markets such as solar, wind, and hydro. As Symphony Plus System Technical Coordinator, you will be part of the global R&D team, more precisely of Symphony Plus System Team

**This position reports to**:
R&D Technology Manager

**Your responsibilities**:

- Responsible for system architecture within S+ system level
- Ensures the system architecture and design are aligned with the product architecture team and related streams
- Collaborate and ensure smooth integration of Next Generation Technology (NGT) in S+ system to define step-by-step architectural evolution towards NGT
- Define / Detail system level architecture for S+ DCS system with new NGT components, focus on system level functions and workflows.
- Represent S+ system view in the PCP system architecture forum / meetings.
- Ensures the system’s technical requirements and system planning (enablers) are aligned with the development streams
- Ensures system implementation proposals are created and maintained in cooperation with development streams
- Ensure complex and technical customer cases are architecturally assessed for suitable impact.
- Ensure the technical requirements and NFRs are part of the system architecture and test architecture.
- Collaborate with Product and System Architects in defining Product/Module Design and document the architecture of the system line
- Assess the architecture impact across the system and make pre-studies, high-level technical feasibility evaluations:New feature development in the existing product line which impacts multiple development streams
- Complex enhancements/bugs impacting the system the system architecture as a whole
- Moving to a new Operating system, a new development environment, etc

**Your background**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Engineering or Advanced degree preferred.
- 8 years’ working experience in Symphony Plus control system preferably in product development.
- Experience working with Azure deployment, Containerization and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes / Docker Swarm / OpenShift) will be a strong plus point
- Additional experience with any other ABB control system will be an additional advantage.
- Good objective analysis skill to the problems will be needed for this role
- Ability to understand and adapt new technologies in HMI, engineering, control and other infrastructures required for a large control system.
- Strong technical negotiation and influencing skill.
- Willing to work international environment with PCP R&D centers across the globe.
- Self-motivated, interested in working as part of a team, and able to work in distributed teams.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills - written, verbal and presentation to different levels.
- Fluent in English is a must.
