**Description**

As **Legal Counsel Privacy (DPO) & Contracts**, you will provide strategic and solutions-oriented legal advice to a broad spectrum of internal clients on business initiatives involving the processing of personal data, clinical trial processes and outsourcing-related topics. Main responsibilities include:

- Advise on best practices and compliance with global privacy and data protection laws (in particular Swiss Data Protection law, GDPR and California CCPA/CPRA), as well as overseeing legal and regulatory aspects of data collection and use, privacy disclosures and transparency, and related issues (incl. HIPPA)
- Monitor and review existing processes and controls to inform, advise and issue recommendations to the management with regards to data protection, privacy and compliance, including compliance with data protection and internal policies and guidelines
- Support the development and delivery of privacy training materials and other communications to increase employee understanding of company privacy policies, data handling practices, procedures and legal obligations
- Provide legal advice on investigations involving reports of inappropriate or unauthorized access, loss or disclosure of personal data, including advising on potential liability, identifying legal obligations, and supporting incident response efforts
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, in particular outsourcing agreements to support business-related activities
- Provide support for contract review such as confidentiality, material transfer and other agreements as needed, and assist specifically with IP provisions in clinical trial, investigator sponsored agreements, licenses, collaborations, etc.
- Provide and/or procure ongoing legal advice on laws, regulations and guidelines related to research, development and commercialization of pharmaceuticals
- Ad hoc support on various legal matters related to Myovant Sciences GmbH.

This position is located at our Basel office and will report to the Global Head IP & Head Legal Myovant Sciences GmbH.

**Qualifications**
- Master of Laws, a Swiss/European bar exam and ideally a postgraduate qualification (e.g. LL.M.)
- 4+ years' experience providing privacy and commercial advice, preferably to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device companies, whether in-house or at a law firm
- Knowledge of international laws and regulations regarding privacy, in particular GDPR, HIPAA and CCPA
- Ability to fulfil the tasks referred to in Article 39 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Swiss Data Protection Ordinance
- Knowledge of principles and practices related to all aspects of IP law
- Experience in commercial contracting including clinical trial agreements
- CIPP/EU CIPM or CIPP/US certification(s) preferred but not required
- Strong analytical skills with precise and structured approach to work
- Customer-oriented, proactive, autonomous and with a strong attention to detail
- Creative, responsible, well-organized and capable of dealing with a variety of assignments and deadlines
- Able to communicate clearly, convincingly and diplomatically
- Strong interpersonal and business partnering skills
- Highly motivated to contribute and grow within a complex area of emerging importance
- Excellent command of English, fluency in German; other national language is a plus
- The role requires flexibility to have regular calls in the late afternoon and evening with US colleagues
