**Job summary**:
The goal of the Managing Consultant is to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of high-quality consultancy mandates to international and/or regional corporate clients operating in global agricultural, and forest-based supply chains on climate, water and nature topics. You will be fully accountable for the development and overall management of proposals and projects defining corporate commitments and strategies, and implementing innovative approaches and tools specifically relating to climate, water, and nature topics. You will act as a key point strategic engagement for the client. You will manage project teams in an international setting and will provide technical support to the project teams. In addition, you will support the development and roll-out of new consultation products and solutions at South Pole to address emerging sustainability challenges and ultimately generate impact.

**Main tasks & responsibilities**:

- Manage medium and large consulting mandates on climate, water, and nature topics in global agricultural and forest-based supply chains throughout their entire project cycle: initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure
- Manage and lead teams of consultants in a multi-stakeholder and multi-national context
- Provide guidance on, and technical support in developing proposals and implementing advisory projects, as well as lead their technical review
- Support new business development opportunities with potential new clients, and generally drive opportunities to ensure the growth of demand for South Pole’s suite of offerings and actively contribute to the business development activities of the company in order to drive forward corporate climate action
- Manage and support strategic engagements with existing international and/or regional corporate clients, and the development of strategic engagement plans, in collaboration with other key internal stakeholders
- Support the practice team in further developing South Pole’s thought leadership, services, products, marketing materials and offerings
- Develop and improve specialised skills and knowledge linked to the topics and services offered by South Pole
- Collaborate on the identification and development of new consulting products and services
- Topics of engagement may include: climate, water, and nature - including biodiversity, forests, eco-systems - in agricultural and forest-based supply chains.

**Requirements**:
Essential
- University degree, ideally at a Bachelor’s or Master’s level, in a sustainability-related field such as Environmental, Geo
- or Climate Sciences, Agronomy, Agri
- or Silvicultural Engineering or related disciplines
- Relevant knowledge of sustainability challenges and trends in the private sector, and multinational companies, especially with the integration of climate, water and nature stewardship in supply chains and operations
- Relevant work experience in sustainability consulting or related fields, with specific consultancy experience in sustainability and corporate supply chain risks with a particular focus on climate, water and nature in agricultural and forest-based supply chains or working closely with consumer goods companies
- Advanced project management skills, from both a technical and administrative standpoint, and proven ability to guide project teams in a multi-stakeholder and multi-geographies context
- Proven expertise in autonomously creating high-quality written documents (proposals and deliverables)
- Industry-relevant connections, with a network of potential clients, collaborators and othe relevant stakeholders
