Key responsibilities:
Manages a team of process experts for mammalian manufacturing within the BioAtrium, Visp with full responsibility for all aspects of human resource management such as qualification, development, coaching, hiring, pay decisions and discipline issues.
Responsible for resource and vacation planning of the assigned team members with regard to the fulfillment of all production orders.
Ensures a good information exchange from the upper management levels to his/her team and the other way around through regularly team meetings and escalation of production issues.
Implements the BioAtrium culture via openness for change and new ideas, cooperative teamwork and continuous improvement even outside the own area of responsibility.
As a member of the BioAtrium Operations Leadership Team responsible for all aspects related to MSAT.
Ensures and manages the interfaces to Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Plant Engineering, QA, and QC and other groups related to MSAT topics.
Responsible for control of own cost center, identifies and implements cost reduction measures.
Represents facility during inspections and audits as SME for area of responsibility.
Responsible for the implementation of standardized MSAT procedures and processes.
Supports business development through evaluation support and support in customer meetings.
Planning & Supervision of MSAT activities to ensure successful process transfer into the Bioatrium manufacturing Plant and ensuring that the processes are delivering the required products safely, timely, cost effective with the required quality.
Responsible for developing continuous improvement programs for the processes to reduce cost and increase productivity through Operational Excellence and Innovation initiatives.
Supporting the development of department goals and strategy within the BioAtrium Leadership team in line with respect to overall goals of BioAtrium.
Ensuring proper execution of all people management activities including training, development and retention of associates according to the needs of the Bioatrium production unit.
Ensuring excellent interaction and communication of team members with customers during tech transfer, campaign preparation, execution and closure including daily reporting of batch status and performance.
Representing MSAT during regulatory inspections and customer audits.
Key requirements:
Bachelor/Master degree, PhD preferred.
Preferred area of study: Biotechnology, chemical engineering or related disciplines.
More than 10 years of experience in the area of biopharma manufacturing and / or process development preferable in the area of Mammalian or Microbial Manufacturing.
Strong leadership skills; very good communication skills and interaction with all kinds of interfaces within customers and the project organization.
GMP experience as well as deep understanding of Bioprocess technology.
Structured, focused and well-organized working attitude.
Fluent in English.
