The site in Visp, Switzerland is growing and for our Biologics organization, we are currently looking for a Head of Operations Mammalian to set up and operate our new mammalian mid-scale facility in Ibex® Solutions, our recently launched unique biological manufacturing and development concept**. **As part of the Mammalian Leadership team in Visp, you will have an overall responsibility for performance of the manufacturing facility and achieving the requested manufacturing goals.** **You will ensure that our products and/or services are executed safely within the expected quality and compliance (cGMP).

Key responsibilities:

- Define & set up the operations organization and respective headcount ramp-up plans for the facilities.
- As Operations lead you will be responsible for construction and commissioning of Ibex biopharma facilities and support feasibility studies, conceptual and basic design phases as future user of those facilities.
- Responsible for operative takeover of the new plant (after operational qualification, before performance qualification) and integration in the overall manufacturing network of Lonza and the Biopark site.
- Drives the operational set-up and incorporating innovation, operational improvements and other aspects influencing the manufacturing costs in the design of the facilities.
- Manage a specific production unit during the initial engineering phase and give leadership to multi-disciplinary teams (Manufacturing, MSAT) of senior production leaders, managers or supervisors.
- Build and develop a successful, high performing team.
- Accountable for preparation of risk analysis and all relevant procedures and ensuring training of staff.
- Represent the specific facility during the engineering phases for customer visits and audits as Operations Head
- Responsible for control of own cost center with a focus on identification and implementation of cost reduction measures.

Key requirements:

- Master or PhD degree in Biotechnology or other relevant areas.
- Extensive experience in a leading a large Biopharma manufacturing organization.
- Strong background in Mammalian Mid-Scale production, preferred in ramping-up / starting-up a mid-scale mammalian facility
- Recognized expert in the area of GMP and biopharma production of large molecules.
- Depth understanding of bioprocesses and operational excellence to solve problems
- Strong leadership and excellent communication skills.
- Strong commercial understanding
- Fluent in English, German is an advantage
