Whatyou’lldoIn thisroleyou will be a senior leadership team member and business partner who plays a key role inachievement ofour overall company goals.In this position you will lead the full medicalorganisationdelivering the strategy, plan,capabilitiesandbehavioursnecessary to successfully implement our medical affairs agenda to drive scientific partnerships and leadershipYou will be translating the Global strategic medical long-term vision into a highly effective country strategy and plan that defines and delivers “value” at multiple levels. You will direct and support the function to ensure medical operational excellence (including launch excellence), evidence generation for our portfolio products and patient safety.Other responsibilities include:Translate the Global strategic long-term vision for AZ Medical Affairs Switzerland into a highly effective country strategy and planEnsure operational implementation of the medical affairs country plans,analysing,anticipatingand, where possible, shaping marketplace changes whilstidentifyingandmaximisingnew growth opportunitiesEnsure evidence generation gaps areidentifiedand proactively closed to support scientific advancement for patient benefitsEnsure that strong external relationships are built andmaintainedwith key external experts, scientific bodies and study groups,payorsand patientorganisationas appropriateIncrease our scientific footprint and strategic partnerships in Switzerland in our core disease areasEnsure innovative patient centric solutions are developed and implemented to addressidentifiedunmet needsBuild a high performing teamIdentifythe roles and capabilitiesrequiredfor current and future success within the Medical Affairs team and drives the recruitment of highcalibreindividualsEnsure excellence in execution with a strong focus on proactively managing performance and driving resultsInspire and lead the capability development for the Medical Affairs team and individualsEnsure that an innovative and cross-functional account planning and customer engagement strategy is implemented and monitoredEnsures full compliance and adherence to company standards including ethical interactions and promotional standardsPlans a key role as a member of the Switzerland Senior Leadership Team in ensuring the collective success/performance of the total AZ Switzerland business and peopleEssential for the roleQualified Doctoror similar degreeDemonstrated success through extensive experience of Medical Affairs function within the pharmaceutical industryStrong knowledge andexpertisein at least one of our core therapy areas (CVRM and Respiratory & Immunology)Extensive experience in relationship and stakeholder managementPre-launch, launch and product life cycle management experienceExperience in building,engagingand driving performance through a teamIn-depth knowledge in the specialty and primary care market and patient journeysDemonstrated ability to lead and develop capability across cross-functional teamsIn depth understanding of account planningStrong leadership capability in line with our AZ values with excellent communication skills and an enterprise mindsetStrategic thinking and executionFluent in English &knowledge ofat least one local languageDesirable for the roleKnowledge of the Swiss healthcare environment including regulatory and pricing/reimbursement processes is desirableGood knowledge ofoneorideallymultiplelocal languagesWhy AstraZeneca?At AstraZenecawe’rededicated to being a Great Place to Work.
