About This Role:
As the Associate Director of Global Field Medical Training and Excellence, you will play a pivotal role within the Global Medical Capability team. Tasked with creating a sustainable learning strategy for Biogen's Regional and Global field medical teams, you will ensure alignment with the company's overarching medical strategy. You will serve as a strategic partner and learning advisor, collaborating with key medical stakeholders to assess training needs and design scalable interventions. Your mission is to develop and manage key learning strategies and initiatives, including core curricula and advanced data updates, that enhance field medical competencies. By cultivating scientific expertise and leveraging your background in adult education, you will drive excellence and innovation across Biogen's therapeutic areas, ultimately contributing to the company's success.
What You'll Do:
- Design and deploy a strategic plan for field training across Biogen regions to support business needs within therapeutic areas.
- Act as a learning advisor to assess learning needs and devise impactful solutions.
- Ensure alignment of training programs with product strategy and field medical excellence.
- Determine and implement appropriate learning strategies, including e-learning modules and workshops.
- Cultivate scientific expertise to partner with subject matter experts in deploying learning initiatives.
- Communicate regularly with regional medical teams to ensure consistent implementation of training goals.
- Perform ongoing assessments of demand plans and resource allocations.
- Develop and lead initiatives to expand the reach and capabilities of medical field teams.
- Provide administrative oversight, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with training policies.
- Identify and manage relationships with external vendors and training providers.
- Stay abreast of emerging learning technologies to enhance program delivery.
Who You Are:
You have a strong foundation in adult education and field medical knowledge, complemented by an advanced science degree. Your ability to think strategically and act as a trusted advisor allows you to assess training needs effectively and develop innovative, scalable solutions. You possess excellent communication and management skills, which enable you to collaborate seamlessly with stakeholders and drive projects forward. Your passion for learning and development, coupled with your scientific expertise, positions you as a vital contributor to the success of Biogen's field medical training initiatives.
Required Skills:
- Advanced Degree in a biological science or related field (MS, MSN, PA, Ph.D., MD).
- 7+ years of field medical-related experience in a pharmaceutical company.
- Strong understanding of adult learning and training strategies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proven management skills and experience with vendor management.
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical commercialization process.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with emerging learning technologies and tools.
- Experience in developing innovative training solutions.
- Ability to demonstrate scientific and strategic innovation.
