Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Functional Materials for Sensing Technology

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research fellow to join our team at the Department of Health Sciences and Technology in ETH Zurich. The successful candidate will have a strong background in materials science and related disciplines, with expertise in functional materials, sensing technology, and e-textiles.
The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for designing and conducting research projects in the area of functional materials for sensing technology in e-textiles. This includes developing new materials and techniques for strain/pressure sensors, polymer-based sensors, and other miniaturized sensors. The candidate will also be expected to collaborate with the research group to explore new ideas and contribute to the development of innovative wearable technologies for sport and health applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting research projects in the area of functional materials for sensing technology in e-textiles
- Designing and developing new materials and techniques for strain/pressure sensors, polymer-based sensors, and other miniaturized sensors
- Collaborating with the research group to explore new ideas and contribute to the development of innovative wearable technologies
- Assisting in grant writing and attracting BSc/MSc students to the lab and mentoring their projects
Requirements:
- PhD degree in materials science or related discipline
- Strong background in materials science and related disciplines
- Expertise in functional materials, sensing technology, and e-textiles
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
