We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team in the Department of Health Sciences and Technology at ETH Zurich. The successful candidate will work on a 2-year project-based contract focused on data science and spinal cord injury research.
Key Responsibilities
- Familiarize yourself with various international databases collecting data on SCI patients and lead the implementation, training, and benchmark of state-of-the-art data science pipelines to characterize SCI recovery trajectories and injury patterns.
- Run simulations based on a mechanistic understanding of traumatic SCI to develop novel quantification metrics of injury severity and recovery.
- Communicate with clinical experts regarding the requirements for an online recovery exploration platform and the design and evaluation of clinical trials in the context of traumatic SCI.
- Support junior researchers in the team and be part of an engaging and collaborative team.
Requirements
- PhD in a relevant field such as data science, computer science, physics, and/or biomedical research.
- Proficiency in Python programming with good knowledge of machine and deep learning models through Keras/TensorFlow and/or PyTorch.
- Experience in software development including collaborative coding, version control, and use of compute clusters.
- Ideal background in biomedical projects with experience in interdisciplinary collaboration, particularly in SCI-related research.
- Motivation to work inclusively as part of a diverse team and strive towards scientific excellence in your field by driving innovation.
- Proficiency in English in writing and speaking.
