Viking is a destination-focused cruise company that offers unique experiences for travelers.


We are seeking a skilled Beverage Manager to lead our beverage operations, ensuring efficient and exceptional service to our guests.


This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and manage a team to achieve our goals, while maintaining impeccable standards and adhering to our company policies.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Oversee the efficient operations of all bar lounges, bars, restaurants, and special events.
  • Liaise with the Restaurant Manager to compile and supervise beverage sales.
  • Maintain and control the ship's beverage stock holding, working closely with the Inventory Manager.
  • Assist the Hotel General Manager in organizing and executing bar/lounge related ship functions and special events.
  • Organize, manage, and motivate the Beverage Department, focusing on sales and promoting the Viking Destination Beverage Package.
  • Minimize equipment loss/damage and maintain cleanliness standards.
  • Participate in loadings and waste management, and assign crew for dis/embarkation and luggage duty.
  • Have an in-depth understanding of working hours policies and procedures.
  • Lead and support a multi-cultural team, maximizing crew satisfaction, productivity, and retention.
  • Regularly inspect mise-en-place for all areas.
  • Provide the highest level of comfort and service to guests, adhering to our STAR Service Standards and Public Health Policies.
  • Ensure company property is appropriately secured and protected.
  • Ensure all Human Resources related issues are handled properly and fairly.
  • Demonstrate outstanding flexibility and a positive can-do attitude.
  • Become knowledgeable about itinerary-related ports of call, shore excursions, and shipboard activities.
  • Positively contribute to achieving Bar KPI goals, quality and financial.

Requirements:



  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Beverage Manager or similar position in a premium brand hospitality and/or bar environment.
  • Fluent in Japanese and English, with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in leading multi-cultural teams and being flexible, stress-resistant, and a committed team player.
  • Strong administration skills, proficient with PC-based databases, spreadsheets, and word processing systems.
  • Guest-focused, service-oriented, positive personality, professional appearance, and impeccable hygiene standards.
