Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our Finance team as a Head of Accounting and Finance. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and developing our accounting team, overseeing the timely and accurate accounting and consolidation of SHL Group, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
Main Responsibilities- Lead and Develop the Accounting Team: Lead, mentor, coach, and develop an international accounting team to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their roles effectively.
- Accounting and Consolidation: Oversee the timely and accurate accounting and consolidation of SHL Group, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements, and champion finance governance processes.
- Process Improvement: Assess current accounting operations and optimize them where needed, identifying opportunities for process improvement and executing on implementation.
- Internal Controls: Ensure internal controls and robust processes that comply with Swiss Code of Obligations and the internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR).
- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure correctness and support financial analyses.
- Statutory Audit: Supervise statutory audit of legal entities, ensure compliance, and support SHL Group auditor requests.
- Project Support: Support the CFO in projects, such as M&A activities, strategic initiatives, and other business-critical projects.
- Staff Development: Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
- Finance Vision and Strategy: Support the definition and implementation of a Group-wide Finance vision and strategy as a member of the Global Finance Leadership Team.
- Accounting Expertise: 10+ years of progressive accounting expertise, with a strong knowledge of accounting and reporting processes and standards.
- Leadership Experience: 6+ years of leadership experience in a multicultural international environment, with a proven track record of driving and achieving results.
- Consolidation Experience: Solid know-how and experience in consolidation, with the ability to link compliance and accounting policies to business needs.
- Leadership Skills: Leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results, with the ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and solution-oriented mindset, with analytical and critical thinking skills.
