Operational Excellence Manager

At Lonza, we're committed to improving lives around the world through innovative solutions in life sciences. As an Operational Excellence Manager, you'll play a key role in driving our continued improvement culture and deploying lean and six sigma tools to enhance our business processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Value Stream Maps to identify improvement opportunities and deliver effective solutions.
  • Mentor and coach team members in Lean and Lean Six Sigma methodologies, including white, yellow, and green belts.
  • Lead and facilitate improvement and problem-solving workshops to drive sustainable solutions.
  • Work with the team to uncover and assess lean opportunities, prioritizing projects with the greatest benefit and supporting delivery with well-executed sustainable steps.
  • Lead specific projects and apply lean six sigma tools to improve processes.
  • Collaborate with all departments to identify and implement key metrics at appropriate levels of the business.
  • Contribute to strategy development to align and prioritize lean/CI initiatives and project objectives for BioAtrium.
  • Proactively work with functional leaders to establish continuous improvement goals and act as a liaison with finance to build improvement budgets and validate actual improvement ROI results.
  • Effect change by influencing operational teams to adopt lean concepts such as 5s, A3, PDCA, standard work, DMAIC, problem-solving, visual management, and the creation of lean flow in their daily work.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred.
  • Preferred area of study: Industrial Engineering, Science, Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Advanced number of years of experience in the area of Lean Six Sigma, with experience in pharma industrial a plus.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt required.
  • Strong leadership skills, very good communication skills, and interaction with all kinds of interfaces within customers and the project organization.
  • Structured, focused, and well-organized working attitude.
  • Fluent in English, German or Chinese a plus.
