Traineeship - CDT and Tailored Training Activities

Background:
The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented trainee to support the coordination and implementation of face-to-face and online training activities within the Multilateral Diplomacy Programme.
The Programme aims to enhance the training activities offered to the diplomatic community, and the selected trainee will play a crucial role in assisting in the design, management, and adaptation of training content to quality and academic standards.
Responsibilities- Assist in the coordination of Core Diplomatic and tailor-made training activities, including preparation of training materials, coordination of logistics, and adaptation of training content.
- Support subject matter experts in the development of participatory training activities.
- Conduct research and draft project proposals for further collaborations.
- Adapt training materials and learning packages to quality and academic standards and certification criteria.
- Liaise directly with partner organizations and beneficiaries in preparation for the delivery of the Programme.
- Manage applicant and programme participant eligibility and registration status.
- Prepare key data such as programme statistics and evaluation reports.
- Undertake research to provide necessary input into training tools and exercises.
- Assist in the implementation of e-learning courses, workshops, and webinars.
- Support procurement processes, including purchase requests and comparative statements.
- Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.
- Translate strategic vision into actionable objectives.
- Work independently and take initiative.
- Develop a professional rapport with UNITAR and United Nations staff.
- Propose ways to further UNITAR's mission.
- Work in a multicultural environment.
- Enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate/postgraduate degree in international relations, education, history, law, political science, languages, or a related subject.
- Demonstrated interest in training methodologies, both in person and online.
- Ability to write in a clear and concise manner, up to high quality standards.
- Analytical and research skills.
- Administrative and organizational skills to assist in the organization of training activities.
- Digital skills, including e-Learning tools, word processing, excel, power point, internet search, etc.
- High level of individual responsibility, commitment, and initiative.
- Interest in participatory training methodologies and instructional design.
- Motivation to work with monitoring and evaluation.
A high standard in both oral and written English is required. Knowledge of French and/or Arabic is an advantage.
