Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Consultant in International Retirement Actuarial Services to join our International Wealth team in Switzerland. This role is pivotal in our multinational team of actuaries and consultants, focusing on retirement benefits projects across the EMEA region. The primary responsibility involves managing ongoing client engagements and spearheading new initiatives with multinational corporations and international organizations, particularly concerning the governance, design, financing, accounting, investment, operation, and risk management of their defined benefit (DB) and defined contribution (DC) retirement plans.

Candidate Profile

  • Master's degree in applied actuarial science, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Qualified or nearing qualification as an actuary with a recognized actuarial body or association.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in:
    • Delivering accounting valuations and retirement accounting consolidations.
    • Providing high-quality retirement and benefits consulting to multinational entities.
    • Managing the design and implementation of regional or global retirement and benefit plans within a multinational corporation.
    • Collaborating with teams across different countries.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to navigate cultural differences in a multi-country team environment.
  • Self-driven, confident, and capable of seeking guidance when necessary.
  • Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in German or French is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Focus on:
    • Design, financing, taxation, and ongoing governance of statutory and voluntary retirement (DC and DB) and benefit plans globally.
    • Coordination of retirement and benefit considerations related to mergers and acquisitions and other business integrations or separations.
    • Delivery of global retirement technology solutions.
    • Global retirement accounting consolidation.
  • Utilize actuarial, accounting, and technical expertise in international retirement and benefits to proactively advise clients on managing their retirement and benefit plans worldwide.
  • Serve as a project manager or team leader for larger projects, providing support to senior colleagues and mentoring junior staff under limited supervision.
  • Take ownership of smaller projects, working independently and preparing materials for client meetings.
  • Ensure quality by critically reviewing work and applying technical expertise, while efficiently managing deadlines.
  • Support new business development initiatives, both independently and in collaboration with senior colleagues.
