Job Title: Traineeship - CDT and Tailored Activities

United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented trainee to support the Multilateral Diplomacy Programme in Geneva, New York, and other locations.

Background:

UNITAR's Multilateral Diplomacy Programme is expanding its training activities to cater to the diplomatic community worldwide. As part of this effort, we are looking for a trainee to assist in the coordination and implementation of face-to-face and online training activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the coordination of core diplomatic and tailored training activities, including preparation of training materials, coordination of logistics, and adaptation of training content to quality and academic standards.
  • Support subject matter experts in developing participatory training activities.
  • Conduct research and draft project proposals for further collaborations.
  • Adapt training materials and learning packages to quality and academic standards and certification criteria.
  • Liaise directly with partner organizations and beneficiaries in preparation for the delivery of the Programme.
  • Manage applicant and participant eligibility and registration status.
  • Prepare key data such as programme statistics and evaluation reports.
  • Undertake research to inform training tools and exercises.
  • Support the unit's outreach and communication strategy.
  • Assist colleagues with the implementation of e-learning courses, workshops, and webinars.
  • Support procurement processes.

Requirements:
  • Enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate/postgraduate degree in international relations, education, history, law, political science, languages, or a related subject.
  • Demonstrated interest in training methodologies, both in person and online.
  • Ability to write in a clear and concise manner, up to high quality standards.
  • Analytical and research skills.
  • Administrative and organizational skills.
  • Digital skills.
  • High level of individual responsibility, commitment, and initiative.
Language:

A high standard in both oral and written English is required. Knowledge of French and/or Arabic is an advantage.

Duration:

The traineeship programme is normally on a full-time basis and trainees are expected to work five days a week.
