Job Title: Traineeship - CDT and Tailored Activities

United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented trainee to support the Multilateral Diplomacy Programme. The successful candidate will assist in the coordination and implementation of face-to-face and online training activities, including designing and managing courses, adapting training content, and assisting with communications and outreach activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and implement face-to-face and online training activities, including preparation of training materials and coordination of logistics.
  • Assist subject matter experts with the development of participatory training activities.
  • Conduct research and draft project proposals for further collaborations.
  • Adapt training materials and learning packages to quality and academic standards and certification criteria.
  • Liaise directly with partner organizations and beneficiaries in preparation for the delivery of the Programme.
  • Manage eligibility and registration status of applicants and programme participants.
  • Prepare key data such as programme statistics and evaluation reports.
  • Undertake research to provide necessary input into training tools and exercises.
  • Assist the unit in its outreach and communication strategy.
  • Support the implementation of e-learning courses, workshops, and webinars.
  • Support procurement processes such as purchase requests and comparative statements.

Requirements:
  • Enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate/postgraduate degree in international relations, education, history, law, political science, languages, or a related subject.
  • Demonstrated interest in training methodologies, both in person and online.
  • Ability to write in a clear and concise manner, up to high quality standards.
  • Analytical and research skills.
  • Administrative and organizational skills to assist in the organization of training activities.
  • Digital skills to deal with e-Learning tools, word processing, excel, power point, internet search, etc.
  • High level of individual responsibility, commitment, and initiative.
  • Interest in participatory training methodologies and instructional design.
  • Motivated to work with monitoring and evaluation.
Language:

A high standard in both oral and written English is required. Knowledge of French and/or Arabic is an advantage.

This is a six-month traineeship programme, normally on a full-time basis, with the selected candidate expected to work five days a week. The start date will be agreed upon with the selected candidate.
