About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented NGS Lab Quality Assurance Specialist to join our dynamic team at SOPHiA GENETICS. As a key member of our Quality Control team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) experiments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct quality control tests to ensure the accuracy and quality of NGS experiments
  • Prepare NGS libraries for quality control activities
  • Perform sample preparation for NGS experiments, including DNA and RNA extraction, quantification, and quality assessment
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to quality control
  • Assist in the development and optimization of quality control protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Document experiments on electronic lab notebooks
  • Maintain compliance with laboratory safety and quality control standards
Requirements
  • CFC, BA, or MSc degree in a relevant scientific discipline (Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, etc.)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a molecular biology laboratory, preferably utilizing NGS techniques
  • Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment, such as pipettes, centrifuges, and thermal cyclers
  • Working experience in a lab quality function is highly beneficial, with knowledge of SOPs and quality control protocols
  • Familiarity with NGS library preparation protocols and sequencing technologies
