As a Junior NGS Scientist Intern at SOPHiA GENETICS, you will contribute to the development and expansion of our liquid biopsy assay portfolio.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Support subject matter experts in gathering scientific and technical information to gain knowledge of state-of-the-art genomic analysis and diagnostic protocols.
  • Communicate with research collaborators to share research goals, coordinate activities, and track progress.
  • Use issue and project tracking software to plan and report R&D activities and obtain an overview of project management.
  • Familiarize yourself with design control procedures in an industry setting to gain insights into product development.

Requirements:

  • Hold a qualification in a biology-related subject.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Hands-on experience with standard molecular biology techniques, including centrifugation, PCR, and electrophoresis.
  • Experience with NGS library preparation and sequencing procedures would be an advantage.
  • Programming experience, such as Python or R, would be beneficial.
