Job Title: Health Promoter

Reports to: Medical Team Lead

Location: Various MSF locations worldwide

Job Summary

Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is seeking a skilled Health Promoter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting health services and activities in support of medical activities, with a focus on community-based health initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Community Health Promotion: Coordinate health promotion activities, including awareness raising, prevention, and mobilization efforts, to support the medical team's objectives.
  • Strategy Development: Define and update the health promotion strategy and related activities through an annual project and budget plan, ensuring alignment with MSF's medical objectives.
  • Needs Assessment: Analyze local behavior and practices to adapt health activities to the target group, using social mapping and other tools to measure and follow up activities.
  • Team Management: Manage, train, and supervise the health promotion team, including recruitment, capacity-building, briefing, and evaluation of staff.
  • Protocol Implementation: Ensure the application of protocols for sexual and gender-based violence, referring victims to the medical team for treatment as needed.
  • Reporting: Contribute to monthly reports, providing statistical data and other relevant information as required.
Requirements
  • Education: Paramedical or psychosocial background
  • Experience: Two years' experience working with communities and/or local associations on awareness raising, prevention, mobilization, and/or community strengthening
  • Skills: Familiarity with community-based approaches, IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and fluency in English and/or French
  • Personal Qualities: Strong team player, adaptable, and able to work in multicultural teams, with a commitment to MSF's work and values
