Role Overview


We are seeking a highly skilled Health Promoter to join our team in promoting health and well-being in underserved communities.



Key Responsibilities

  • Community Engagement: Coordinate health activities, promote health services, and engage with local populations to raise awareness on health-related topics.
  • Program Development: Develop and implement health promotion strategies, annual project plans, and budgets to achieve set objectives.
  • Capacity Building: Analyze local behaviors, design training programs, and provide capacity-building activities for the health promotion team.
  • Team Management: Supervise, train, and manage the health promotion team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver effective health programs.
  • Reporting and Evaluation: Contribute to monthly reports, tracking progress, and evaluating the effectiveness of health promotion programs.


Requirements

  • Professional Experience: Two years of experience working with communities, local associations, or organizations on awareness-raising, prevention, mobilization, and community strengthening.
  • Community-Based Approach: Familiarity with community-based approaches and experience working with diverse populations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural team.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English and/or French, with any additional languages being an asset.
  • Availability: Commitment to a minimum six-month assignment.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong team player, adaptable, flexible, and able to manage stress.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical Environment: Experience working in a medical environment.
  • Developing Countries: Experience working in developing countries.
  • People Management: Experience in people management.
