Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Global Health Policy Specialist, Advocacy and Accountability to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in supporting Member States to develop and sustain health financing systems that ensure equitable access to needed health services. You will advise on strategic approaches to implement Universal Health Coverage (UHC) activities, particularly in the areas of advocacy and accountability for UHC. Your expertise will be instrumental in promoting and tracking implementation of UHC commitments in line with the Political Declaration adopted at the UN High-Level Meeting on UHC in 2023.

Responsibilities
  • Advise on the development of strategic approaches to implement UHC2030 activities, particularly in the areas of advocacy and accountability for UHC.
  • Conduct advocacy and accountability activities of UHC2030 within WHO and with other UN agencies and multilateral development banks, government ministries, philanthropic foundations, civil society organizations, private sector entities, and parliamentarians.
  • Liaise with other partnerships and networks in the field of health.
  • Contribute to information sharing and dissemination of knowledge and findings from UHC2030 activities, meetings, and publications.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • An advanced university degree (Masters level or above) in health policy, management, or financing; public health; or social sciences.
  • Minimum of seven years of progressive and relevant experience working in the area of public health with an emphasis on health policy, systems development, and civil society engagement.
  • At least three years of experience in coordinating multiple partners and stakeholders through health partnerships and collaborative networks focusing on advocacy and accountability at national and international levels.
