The Role
  1. Drive monthly financial reporting and performance reviews in collaboration with the Cargo Reporting Manager. Ensure accurate production of shipping management reports across various teams (Business controllers, Cost Controllers, Group Reporting team).
  2. Conduct quarterly balance sheet analysis, identifying process issues, detailing root causes, and recommending corrective actions.
  3. Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis, in close collaboration with regional MSC agencies.
  4. Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  5. Support the enhancement of documentation related to accounting policies, procedures, and controls, working closely with the Accounting Processes and Controls Manager.
  6. Ensure correct application of accounting policies and procedures, realizing controls for the area under your oversight.
  7. Contribute to the improvement, standardization, and harmonization of group analysis to elevate the accounting/reporting process.
  8. Facilitate internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation, explanations, and support.
