About the Team

As a key member of the I&D Architecture, Salesforce, and Solution Design team, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the Solution Architecture for both custom-built and commercial off-the-shelf IT solutions at IATA. This role encompasses a diverse range of technologies, including Java/JEE, .NET, and cloud-based solutions, as well as integration tools like AWS and Mulesoft. You will serve as the subject matter expert for the design of IATA's solutions and products, ensuring quality implementation for assigned projects and enhancements. Your responsibilities will include creating high-level design documents and defining coding best practices and integration strategies, particularly with middleware products such as Biztalk, Mulesoft, and AWS.

Daily Responsibilities

Solution Architecture:
- Design critical technical components of IATA's IT solutions and manage the complete technical implementation.
- Engage in design discussions with business and IT teams to present various design alternatives.
- Ensure that technical designs align with the overall enterprise architecture and are scalable.
- Establish technical best practices for implementation and produce architecture/high-level design documentation.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure compliance with best practices.
- Identify potential application performance bottlenecks early in the implementation and recommend solutions.
- Detect application/code security vulnerabilities and propose corrective actions.
General Architecture:
- Possess strong expertise in various integration methods, particularly Mulesoft.
- Develop, communicate, maintain, and enforce the overall architecture (applications, data, integration, etc.) across projects.
- Contribute to the enterprise architecture group, ensuring system architecture and governance across the business and its IT suppliers, maintaining the integrity of solutions.
- Foster collaboration and coordination among all technical streams within projects to ensure successful delivery of integrated solutions.
- Provide overarching design principles for software and hardware integration, performance, reliability, manageability, and security.
- Generate appropriate levels of formal architecture and design documentation.
- Collaborate closely with project management and development teams to assist in planning, reviewing project schedules, sizing, and gap analysis.
- Define subsystems and major components and their interconnections.
- Ensure that overall solution specifications are documented, updated, and controlled.
- Oversee the development of interfaces for different components to meet specifications.
- Assist in creating reusable assets for future projects.

Qualifications

- BSc Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience working with Microsoft and AWS at a senior level.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Solution Architect.
- Proven experience in bespoke software development, integration, and configuration of COTS products.
- Experience delivering solutions using Agile (Scrum) methodologies.
- Ability to articulate technical solutions to senior business leaders.
- Strong knowledge of Java/JEE, web services (SOAP/REST), and cloud technologies (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS), as well as ERP/CRM architectures and solutions.
