At Burckhardt Compression, we are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Lead to join our team in Winterthur. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to work on challenging international projects in a dynamic and innovative environment.

As a Mechanical Project Lead, you will be responsible for the technical planning of several compressor systems, from order placement to commissioning. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the technically successful implementation of these projects within the agreed specifications and applicable international standards.

Your daily routine will involve:

  • Leading the technical planning and coordination of multiple international projects simultaneously;
  • Collaborating with CAD plant designers to develop P&I diagrams, general arrangement plans, and foundation plans;
  • Developing the plant and operating concept as well as the system control description;
  • Conducting basic and detailed engineering, including creating technical specifications for purchased parts like dampers, coolers, control valves, etc.
  • Evaluating supplier offers and supporting global suppliers;
  • Participating in internal and external technical meetings (e.g., KOM, HAZOP, SIL, Plant Layout Review Meeting, etc.).

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering or process engineering, or equivalent education;
  • At least 5 years of experience as a project engineer in an international environment in industrial plant construction and/or mechanical engineering;
  • Advanced knowledge of the oil and gas industry, petrochemicals, or H2 Mobility & Energy;
  • Proficient knowledge in static (pressure vessel, heat exchanger) and rotating (compressor, pumps, drivers) equipment and their applicable codes and standards;
  • Excellent PC skills, including Word, Excel, SAP, and MS-Project;
  • Very good English and German language skills, both spoken and written.
