About the Role

We are seeking a talented Cybersecurity Manager for Applications to lead our Application Security team. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic organization, SonarSource, and contribute to the success of our security initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of experienced security professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to help team members grow and develop in their roles.
  • Foster a culture of open feedback, continuous improvement, and collaboration, encouraging team members to share their ideas and concerns.
  • Align security feedback with other teams to ensure a smooth workflow between departments.
  • Develop and communicate a clear vision for the security squad that aligns with the company strategy.
  • Ensure the team tracks sprints and progress, and that processes and ceremonies align with company expectations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including Product Managers, developer squads, and management, to ensure the right level of collaboration.
  • Hire world-class AppSec Engineers for the team and participate in constructing the hiring process.
  • Be accountable for the onboarding of new team members.
  • Model the behaviors and values that the company holds dear, including humility and servant leadership.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in AppSec, including knowledge of common vulnerabilities and how to locate them in code.
  • A developer mindset, with experience in coding lifecycles, secure code production, code reviews, and jumping into unknown codebases.
  • Good knowledge of at least one programming language and its development environment.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or management role, with a proven track record of delivering results and building high-performing teams.
  • A growth mindset, a passion for helping individuals and teams, strong decision-making skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks and resources effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to start with the Why and deliver effective feedback.
