About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Assistant to join our team at the University of St. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science and data science, with a focus on machine learning and deep learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and development of new machine learning algorithms and models, with a focus on large language models and transformer architectures.
  • Implement and evaluate the performance of these models using popular deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras.
  • Collaborate with our team of researchers and engineers to integrate state-of-the-art techniques into our existing systems.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality code, ensuring that it is well-documented and follows best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning and deep learning, and apply this knowledge to improve our models and systems.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and Keras.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with state-of-the-art techniques in deep learning, including attention mechanisms and neural network optimization.
  • Knowledge of large language model architectures, such as Generative Pre-trained Transformer models, is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Proficiency in German is a plus.
