About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Research Assistant to join our team at the University of St. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science and data science, with a focus on machine learning and deep learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and development of new machine learning algorithms and models, with a focus on large language models and transformer architectures.
- Implement and evaluate the performance of these models using popular deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras.
- Collaborate with our team of researchers and engineers to integrate state-of-the-art techniques into our existing systems.
- Develop and maintain high-quality code, with a focus on modularity, scalability, and maintainability.
- Participate in the design and implementation of new features and tools to support our research and development efforts.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, with a strong foundation in technical knowledge.
- Proficient in Python programming, with experience in developing and modifying module classes in TensorFlow and Keras.
- Strong understanding of complex problems and ability to solve them efficiently.
- Familiarity with state-of-the-art techniques in deep learning, including attention mechanisms, sequence modeling, and neural network optimization.
- Knowledge of large language model architectures, such as Generative Pre-trained Transformer models, is a plus.
- Ability to learn and work with advanced machine learning development stacks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in English, with proficiency in German a plus.
