About the Role

The Reinsurance Reporting Specialist will play a key role in driving the delivery of high-quality reporting solutions for the Reinsurance Liabilities team. This individual will be responsible for leading the development and maintenance of reporting capabilities, ensuring that they are performant, scalable, and meet the needs of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the delivery roadmap for Reinsurance Liabilities Reporting, prioritizing high-value product increments and managing the backlog of the team.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for Reinsurance Liabilities Reporting, particularly around IFRS Valuation and IFRS 17 disclosures, and mentor junior team members.
  • Manage the reporting aspects of the quarterly financial close in the subledger.
  • Liaise and coordinate with team members to ensure that all implementations follow guiding principles, aligned with the target architecture and standardization concept.
  • Define and ensure consistent reporting capabilities based on SAP S/4HANA Financial Products Subledger and Analysis for Office (AfO), as well as for Microsoft Azure and PowerBI.
  • Partner closely with IT stakeholders to follow their guidance on reporting architecture, data modeling, report design, and performance-related topics.
  • Provide business prototypes leading to end-to-end solutions.
  • Ensure best practice methods are adhered to, reports are well-documented, training and support documentation are provided.
  • Build stakeholder understanding and engagement on the reporting vision.
  • Ensure communication within the team and across the organization.

About the Team

The Reinsurance Liabilities Reporting team is a diverse group based in Zürich, Bratislava, and Bangalore, committed to bringing alive the Finance of the Future within the Group Finance Operations & Transformation (GFO&T) organization. We transform our Finance operating model by standardizing, automating, and integrating our Reporting & Processes along the Value Chain. We foster innovation by driving Business Use Cases in the areas of User Experience and Data Management. We work cross-functionally with our colleagues in Finance, IT, and all other departments to eliminate silos.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Experience as a Product Owner and Senior Business Analyst for Reinsurance Subledger Reporting, with a proven delivery track record as a business analyst in an SAP landscape.
  • Insurance/Reinsurance Finance expertise and reporting and accounting knowledge, focused on IFRS, Financial Statements, and Disclosure (for legal entities localization).
  • Proven expert knowledge in various Reporting & Analytics technologies, with a focus on SAP and Microsoft.
  • Hands-on experience with designing and implementing reporting and advanced analytics solutions for IFRS.
  • Show well-structured, analytical thinking and the ability to explain processes clearly and understandably to a non-technical audience.
  • Basic functional knowledge of SAP S/4 modules, preferably Financials Product Subledger (FPSL) or Bank Analyzer.
  • Strong experience in all phases of the Analytics solution development process, including requirements gathering, architecture design, implementation, testing, and documentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience working in an agile environment.
  • Able to deal with ambiguity and influence positive outcomes.
  • Pro-active, forward-looking mindset and exceptional delivery focus.
  • A bachelor's degree in either Accounting, business, or computer/IT science.
  • Experience in Finance at Swiss Re or with other major players in the re-/insurance/financial services industry, ideally with a consulting background.
  • Excellent command of English, and any other language is a plus.
