About the Role

PATH is seeking a seasoned Digital Malaria Health Systems Innovator to join our team in driving innovation and scale-up of digital health solutions for malaria elimination.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in designing and implementing digital health programs, particularly in malaria-endemic countries. The ideal candidate will have expertise in leveraging digital tools and technologies to improve data-driven decision-making and disease surveillance.

Main Responsibilities

  • Leverage understanding of data and digital health landscape to support national malaria and NTD surveillance programs in identifying and implementing innovative digitally-enabled approaches and interventions for malaria.
  • Lead development of collaborative, integrated digitally enabled approaches for diverse malaria stakeholders at global, regional, and country levels.
  • Support partners and malaria programs with development of digital and data governance, data sharing and data privacy and security standards.
  • Advise country Ministries of Health and malaria programs on geo-registries and improving geographical data for enhanced data visualization and decision-making.
  • Advise country-based teams on implementation of technology platforms for collection, analysis, and visualization of key malaria indicators.
  • Facilitate strategy discussions for digitalization in malaria space with donors and internally at PATH; translate existing donor strategies into program design and evaluation.
  • Connect digital activities within PATH's programs to leverage lessons learned and translate global and country-level standards.
  • Link PATH Malaria's digital health activities to broader global digital health investments within PATH and among donors.
  • Design partnerships for data and digital health within malaria to support existing and upcoming PATH malaria programs.
  • Support development of proposals for additional resources to enable further digital transformation priorities.
  • Represent PATH's malaria and digital experience and capabilities externally.
  • Supervise and mentor junior technical staff members.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience designing and implementing digital health programs, including demonstrated experience working with programs and stakeholders in endemic country contexts.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of malaria, including existing digital tools, landscape, strategies, and donor priorities.
  • Experience with broad range of digital health tools, including open source software solutions and commercial tools.
  • Demonstrably strong digital system design and architecture skills, including analytical skills, enterprise architecture, IT architecture, and systems analysis.
  • Experience in systems integration and implementation, as well as ability to understand and engage with technical and software teams.
  • Knowledge of international health interoperability patterns and architectures, such as OpenHIE, and standards, standards profiles, and SDOs.
  • Experience with data storage and management approaches, geographic information systems design, data visualization, business use, and modeling, as well as experience with health information systems currently in use in the global health and development landscape.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize work and projects.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.
  • Proficiency in English and French required.

What We Offer

PATH offers a competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, plus benefits including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
