Head of Sustainability Science

Niatsu is a pioneering cleantech Data as a Service startup that combines sustainability data and technology to make emissions transparent within the food industry. Our mission is to bring real-time and scalable climate data on product level to food manufacturers, empowering them to make informed decisions and reduce their environmental footprint.

Key Responsibilities

As Head of Sustainability Science, you will be responsible for developing the scientific framework behind our solution for life cycle assessments of agri-food products. You will work closely with our technology department to bring real-time and scalable sustainability data to clients of Niatsu. Your key tasks will include:

  • Developing and implementing methodologies for automated life cycle analysis
  • Overseeing the scientific methodology of Niatsu's automated carbon accounting standard
  • Building strategic partnerships with industry experts and stakeholders to promote sustainability data and implement net-negative strategies in the food industry
  • Collaborating with policy makers to inform and shape sustainability policies
  • Leading the conversation on the latest trends and developments in the fight against climate change

Requirements


We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious climate scientist who is passionate about revolutionizing the food industry's approach to sustainability. You should have a strong background in life cycle analysis, experience with tools and databases such as Ecoinvent, SimaPro, and Gabi, and a deep understanding of the regulatory environment. Fluency in English is required, with other languages being an advantage.
