Data Engineering Practice Lead

We are seeking a highly qualified Data Engineering Practice Lead to drive the expansion and growth of our Data & Cloud Engineering team at Visium. This role will have a significant impact on the company's future direction, requiring a unique blend of technical expertise and leadership skills.
About the Role
- Develop and communicate a compelling vision for the data engineering practice that aligns with company objectives and fosters a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Engage with clients to understand their business needs and outline how we can provide value.
- Lead the business unit to achieve exceptional performance and growth.
- Provide technical guidance on complex data transformation initiatives.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing to present our services and build strong client relationships.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality data engineering projects by overseeing project management and implementing best practices.
- Develop and promote new data engineering methodologies, tools, and services.
- Manage team performance and oversee recruitment, training, and mentoring.
- Integrate data engineering capabilities into broader service offerings and collaborate with technology partners.
- Ensure data engineering projects comply with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
Requirements
- Master's or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering or a closely related field, with a progression from hands-on technical roles to leadership positions.
- Proven experience in leading and managing data engineering teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, including budget management and stakeholder communication.
- Technical expertise in data architecture, database management, ETL processes, big data technologies, and cloud services.
- Client acquisition and engagement experience in a consulting environment.
Additional Qualifications
- Industry certifications in data engineering, big data, cloud platforms, or project management.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.
- Fluency in English and German or French.
