Data-Driven IT Support Specialist Intern

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data-Driven IT Support Specialist Intern to join our IT Services Team at SOPHiA GENETICS. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work on optimizing and automating our internal service desk portal, improving the IT support experience across the company.

You will be working closely with the IT team to ensure smooth operations, enhance the user experience, and contribute to IT solutions that streamline workflows within SOPHiA GENETICS.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with monitoring and managing the internal helpdesk, responding to IT requests from employees, and reporting key metrics.
  • Support the configuration of role-based access control (RBAC), user accounts, and access permissions.
  • Contribute to Information Security & Network Operations, helping maintain secure and efficient IT systems.
  • Support asset management, MDM (JAMF) configuration, and automation of asset management processes.
  • Assist with systems administration (Azure Cloud) and automation tasks, including scripting innovative IT solutions.
  • Use project tracking and issue management software, such as Jira Cloud, to manage and report on IT support activities.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience with system administration is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Apple environments.
  • Some knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash/Shell, Python) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical issues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
