About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Reinsurance Underwriter to join our global treaty reinsurance team at Helvetia Insurance Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for marketing, underwriting, maintaining, and developing a profitable portfolio of Nat Cat treaties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market and underwrite Nat Cat treaties, ensuring alignment with our Underwriting Rules and Guidelines.
  • Develop and implement marketing and sales plans to achieve business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the reinsurance team to serve clients and brokers, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Manage international client and broker relationships, leveraging strategic relationship management and portfolio management skills.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, Nat Cat models, and property cat reinsurance markets.

Requirements

  • University degree in a quantitative discipline, such as natural sciences or engineering.
  • Proven underwriting experience in the treaty reinsurance industry, with a strong understanding of contract wordings, pricing, and rating methodology.
  • Fluent in English and German, with knowledge of other languages beneficial.
  • Pragmatic, goal-oriented, and collaborative mindset.
