Your Role

As a Senior Underwriter, you will be part of a global treaty reinsurance team at Helvetia Insurance Group. Your primary responsibility is to market, underwrite, maintain, and develop an existing portfolio of Nat Cat treaties.

Your Responsibilities

  • Market and underwrite Nat Cat treaties to meet client needs and create value for all parties involved.
  • Collaborate with the reinsurance team to serve clients and brokers personally and ensure timely delivery of services.
  • Ensure underwriting activities align with Underwriting Rules, Guidelines, Working Directives, and Underwriting Authority.
  • Establish marketing and sales plans, gather market data, and identify new opportunities to achieve business goals.

Your Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A university degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Natural sciences, Engineering, or a similar area.
  • Underwriting experience within the treaty reinsurance industry, with a strong understanding of contract wordings, pricing, and rating methodology.
  • Profound knowledge of Nat Cat models and Property Cat reinsurance markets.
  • Proven track record of managing international client and broker relationships, with effective strategic relationship management and portfolio management skills.
  • A pragmatic, goal-oriented, and collaborative mindset.
  • Fluency in both English and German, with knowledge of other languages beneficial.
