Job Summary
The EPFL AI Center is seeking a highly organized and experienced Event Manager to oversee the organization of the Applied Machine Learning Days (AMLD), a flagship AI event. As Event Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of AMLD, working closely with the EPFL AI Center Executive Director, professors, central services, and external organizers.
About the Role
- Develop and implement event strategies to achieve AMLD's goals and objectives.
- Manage the AMLD team and overall operations, including budgeting, scheduling, and logistics.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless event execution, including speakers, sponsors, and attendees.
- Oversee the development and implementation of digital coordination platforms and tools.
- Ensure effective communication and stakeholder management throughout the event planning process.
- Work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities.
- Contribute to the growth and development of the EPFL AI Center ecosystem.
Requirements
- Proven experience in organizing large-scale events, preferably in a scientific or technical field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage various stakeholders and motivate a wide range of people.
- Experience in budget and team management, as well as matrix organizations with line and functional reporting.
- Capability to work in English and French, both written and spoken.
- Well-organized with excellent multi-tasking abilities and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in managing digital coordination platforms and tools.
- Open-minded, team player, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
